The story behind "HOMETOWN" collection is a tale of deep-rooted memories, a childhood spent by the ocean, and a family business steeped in the traditions of the sea. Growing up in this idyllic coastal town in the south of Thailand, my life was interwoven with the rich tapestry of Thai, Chinese, and Muslim cultures. This enchanting blend of traditions provided the foundation for the brand's unique identity.

My hometown, with its colourful Chino-Portuguese architectural wonders, served as an ever-inspiring backdrop for my design. The cobblestone streets adorned with vibrant hues of reds, blues, and greens told stories of generations past. The intricate designs of the buildings, a testament to the fusion of cultures, sparked creativity and imagination.
 

My dad's fishing boats painted in a rich burgundy red, were more than just vessels; they were symbols of my livelihood and a connection to the vast ocean that lay before mine. The boat flags, fluttering in the warm breeze, danced in shades of yellow and green, a representation of unity and harmony among the diverse communities.

"Blue fish crates" was not just a colour; it was a shade that encapsulated a way of life. The azure boxes, brimming with the catch of the day, represented both hard work and sustenance. The green-blue ocean, with its ever-changing shades, was a constant reminder of the ebb and flow of life itself.

The collection "HOMETOWN" draws inspiration from all of these elements, weaving them into the fabric of each design. The blend of Thai, Chinese, and Muslim cultures reflects the harmony of Pattani's diverse society, while the Chino-Portuguese architectural motifs inspire intricate patterns and details. The rich burgundy of the fishing boats, along with the harmonious yellow and green accents, manifests in the vibrant color palette of the collection.

 

The "HOMETOWN" collection represents not only mys personal history but also the fusion of two worlds - the warmth of their Thai heritage and the clean lines and minimalistic aesthetics of Swedish and Scandinavian design. It's a tribute to the memories of the sea, the timeless beauty of Pattani, and the endless possibilities that arise when cultures come together.
